Biography

Bernard "Pretty" Purdie is an American drummer who is one of the most recorded session drummers in history. Mr. Purdie is still playing today. He is known for his signature beat: the "Purdie Shuffle." He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 2013.
